Mark Schryver, Founder & Executive Chairman of the board of directors
Born and raised in Iowa, Mark Schryver was no stranger to hard work, dedication, motivation and results. He worked the family business with his father and two brothers for years until his allergies posed a serious health risk. Mark made the tough decision to move to Colorado with his wife, Denise, and began working as a sales representative for MedLine. Mark’s hard work and passion for his work paid off as he continued to grow his sales and was promoted into many managerial positions, leaving as Vice President of National Accounts. In 1993 Mark founded Schryver Medical. Mark’s passion for his work, dedication to those he provided services, business integrity and service excellence motivation have produced results that have allowed the company to grow year after year. When you ask Mark what it takes to grow a business, he simply states, “We raise the bar in all that we do.”
Doug Goetz, Chief Executive Officer
Doug Goetz has more than 24 years of healthcare management and leadership experience and is now a national leader in healthcare management. Prior to joining Schryver, Doug served as CEO of Correctional Healthcare Companies, a private equity backed healthcare services company focused on providing healthcare services to state and local agencies across the United States, and Senior Vice President and CFO of HMS Healthcare, a multi-region preferred provider organization (PPO). As a vice-president for the TriZetto Group, a healthcare services firm, Doug led numerous integrations of healthcare networks. Doug also served as Corporate CFO for PorterCare Adventist Health System, a Denver-based multi-hospital network, as well as serving as COO and CFO of Sloans Lake Managed Care. Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Jay Schryver, President
Jay Schryver has nearly 14 years at Schryver Medical. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Communications and completed his Masters in Business Administration in 2010 from the University of Colorado. Jay began working at Schryver Medical in the summer of 2002, learning the business from the ground up. Jay started in sales before transitioning into operations as the Branch Operations Manager for the launch of services in Arizona. In 2010 Jay was promoted to Executive Vice President and on January 1, 2011 Jay was promoted to President of Schryver Medical. As President, Jay directly oversees all clinical and administrative operations of the company.
Bruce Dakin, corporate PRESIDENT of operations
Bruce has over 25 years of experience in service-oriented management with a specific emphasis on operational and sales development. Since his arrival in 2002, Bruce has played key roles in the operational design, efficiency, and overall quality of the Schryver Medical diagnostics service offering to our customers. With his background in business development and logistics management at companies such as FedEx Corporate Services and Medical Systems of Denver Inc., Bruce directs over 500 field operations team members at all branch and corporate operating locations and also leads the operations team in the identification and implementation of new market growth. Bruce demonstrates an unwavering passion to provide the very best service experience to all of our customers and patients in every decision he makes.
Bruce is a proud Wichita State University Shocker and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Newman University.
JASON Roeder, Chief Financial Officer
Chief Financial Officer Jason Roeder has over 8 years experience in senior leadership positions at private equity owned entities in the healthcare industry, and 8 years experience in finance and corporate value consulting at PwC, a Big 4 accounting/consulting firm. Prior to Schryver Medical, he served in finance leadership positions at Coram Healthcare (a Blackstone Group entity), a leading national provider of home infusion and specialty pharmacy services. Coram provided home infusion/IV drug therapy to over 20,000 patients per month, through 85 locations across the US. Jason led and managed finance, sales operations and accounting, and was a key contributor in the operations of the business.
Jennifer Holt, Vice President of Compliance
Jennifer has over 23 years of medical billing and coding experience with a focus on durable medical equipment and ancillary services, billing both Medicare and Medicaid programs. Since joining Schryver Medical in 1997, Jennifer has been employed in a variety of operational and business positions. Before becoming Vice President of Compliance, she was the Director of Billing responsible for the coordination and operations of the billing department. In February 2010, Jennifer was promoted to Compliance and Privacy Officer due to her expertise and considerable experience with medical compliance. She has been instrumental in fostering the company’s culture of compliance and has oversight of the compliance, safety and quality assurance programs at Schryver Medical. Jennifer currently holds professional certifications as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and a Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).
Arno Bergstrom, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing
In the fall of 2004, Jay Schryver recruited Arno to the Schryver Medical team as a Sales Representative. Arno came to Schryver Medical with an extensive background in Sales Management, Small Business ownership and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2002, Arno worked for the E&J Gallo Winery in their Management Development Program showing yet again that when tasked with a challenge it would be inevitable success. In 2004 Arno joined the Schryver Medical team, and was selected to open the Seattle branch. Arno began to quickly prove his ability to sell and grow a market. With dedication and passion for elderly patients, it was clear that Arno’s leadership and charisma was infectious, making the Northwest the fastest growing Schryver Medical branch. In 2008, Arno was named Schryver Medical's Regional Vice President for that region, and in 2010, Arno was named Executive Vice President of Sales for the entire company.
Dave Paison, Vice President, National Accounts
Dave has been with Mark and Denise from the beginning of Schryver Medical in 1993 and has always worked on the Sales and Marketing side of the business. Dave participated in many key expansion efforts; most notably in Seattle and Phoenix. He plays an active role and participates in the state health care associations. This ensures he maintains the latest market knowledge to benefit the growth and expansion of Schryver Medical. Dave is currently the Vice Chairman of the Business Associates Membership committee at the Colorado Health Care Association (CHCA).
Dave works closely with the ongoing development and training of our current national sales team. He was involved with the roll-out of our new Lab Outreach and Laboratory Information System (LIS) and works with the sales staff and our customers, training them on using this exciting software product. This product truly “Raises the Bar” and continues to put Schryver Medical ahead of competitors in providing efficient, effective solutions to the obstacles facing many of our customers in this heavily regulated industry.
Todd Hubbard, Executive Vice President, Business Development
Todd joined Schryver Medical in February of 1996 with a focus on expanding the supply business into southern Colorado and broadening the company’s focus into other service based areas. Over the years, Todd has worked in both operations and sales, and brings a deep knowledge of the industry and the needs of its customers. Todd has been an integral part of the company’s expansion into rental, oxygen, laboratory and imaging services. Throughout his tenure, Todd has played key roles in the successful expansion of Schryver Medical across the western United States. In 2009 Todd was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President and is currently serving as Executive Vice President of Business Development where both his nursing and sales backgrounds serve him well.
Rich hegstad, vice president, human resources
Rich Hegstad’s career of more than thirty years in Human Resources has spanned the full spectrum of healthcare employers. Prior to joining Schryver Medical, Rich spent seven years with Correctional Healthcare Companies, an organization providing medical, dental, mental health and behavioral-health services to detainees and inmates of municipal or county jails and state or federal prisons. During this period, he used his experience in evolving Human Resources to meet the needs of rapidly growing companies to meet the needs of this company that grew from 450 employees to more than 2,500 employees based in twenty-six states. Rich’s earlier career included serving as Vice President of HMS Healthcare/Sloans Lake Management Corp; Vice President, HealthTalent, Inc.; and Director, Human Resources for Porter and Littleton Hospitals. He has also served as Director of Human Resources for hospitals in California, Colorado and Kentucky. Rich earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Walla Walla College in Washington state.
JACk (Jay) Bruckner, Vice President of accounting and finance
In his short time with Schryver Medical, Jay has worked closely with the Executive Team and Operations. During this process he was implementing several new processes and systems (ie. Paychex, Timekeeping, Expensewire, banking lockbox, automation of revenue posting) in preparation for future targets. While at Hukari Ascendent, Jay Bruckner re-tooled the accounting and finance department while streamlining the process and procedures. He introduced new banking relationships and worked to coordinate company strategy with indirect rate pools to be more competitive within the Department of Energy Industry. At CIBER, Bruckner was instrumental in achieving several of the ICAPS system certifications. From the ground up, built the Finance and Accounting infrastructure needed to support SEC, and Federal Government audit and reporting requirements for monthly financials, provisional billing rates, incurred cost proposals and Sarbanes Oxley. Bruckner held positions with Vexcel Corporation (subsidiary of Ball Corporation, Aerospace division) and Northrup Grumman performing merger and acquisition team support and system integration support roles. Jay holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and a BA in Accounting from Fort Lewis College and possesses a Top-Secret clearance.
